Campus Reform: Macalester College

The Princeton Review recently announced the most liberal colleges in the United States, and Macalester College in Minnesota ranked number one. 

To the few conservatives that exist on the campus, the Princeton Review is merely stating the obvious.  The finding came as no surprise to most -- Macalester students are subjected to leftist bias everyday.

Thankfully, some students are now fighting back.

Last Thursday a conservative student group on the campus, MacGOP, presented a "free speech wall" to the students of Macalester College.

The event was a celebration of the individual rights enshrined in the Constitution and an opportunity for the campus to exercise some of them.

The sponsors had a stylistic representation of President Reagan on the wall and celebrated their event with a round of "Leninades" (a soda advertised with the description, "Get Hammered and Sickled!").

Members of the sponsoring group encouraged passing students to write any message they wished on the wall and one member stood on a nearby bench and read the entirety of the Constitution as students headed to their classes.

Even minor activism projects like this can make a big difference on a campus as far left as Macalester.
